Lenders offer their securities for lending and receive interest (lending fees).
Borrowers borrow securities for short selling, arbitrage, or hedging purposes.
The transaction is facilitated through stock exchanges (NSE & BSE) in a regulated environment.
Any retail investor, institutional trader, or high-net-worth individual (HNI) holding eligible securities can lend or borrow through SLBM.
Only SEBI-approved stocks listed on NSE & BSE are allowed for lending and borrowing. The stock list is periodically updated by the exchanges.
SLBM contracts are available for tenures ranging from 1 day to 12 months, depending on market demand.
